Antique Hand-Forged Iron Horse Bit from turkey

$165.00

Late 19th to early 20th century

This striking hand-forged iron horse bit hails from Turkey and likely dates to the late Ottoman period. Sculptural in form with a raw, elemental presence, the bit was forged entirely by hand, bearing the elegant irregularities and quiet strength of traditional blacksmith work.

Once utilitarian, it now feels totemic — a relic of rural equestrian life elevated by time into an object of graphic, almost calligraphic power. Hung on a wall or placed on a flat surface, it becomes a line drawing in space.

Measurements: Approx. 24 × 12 cm
Material: Iron
Origin: Ottoman Empire
Condition: Rich natural patina and surface oxidation. Structurally intact.

Care:
Keep in a dry interior environment. To preserve current patina, avoid cleaning with water or abrasives. For occasional dusting, use a dry soft brush or microfiber cloth.
